Professional Background

Simona is a practicing Existential Analyst / Psychoanalyst. In private practice and within the private, voluntary and public sectors she has had extensive experience of setting up, developing and delivering a range of therapeutic, educational and facilitating services to foster awareness and personal and professional development. Over the years she has made a substantial and diverse contribution to the profession, including the organisation of national and international conferences.

 

Qualifications and Membership

Simona has an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy (1998), an Advanced Diploma in Existential Analysis (ADEP, 2000) and further substantial training in existential analysis and psychoanalysis. She has been a member of The College of Psychoanalysts–UK (CP-UK) since 2007 and from 2008 until 2016 was a member of its Board of Governors and that of the Academy of Psychoanalysis, of which she is also a member. She is a full member of the Society for Existential Analysis (SEA, 1996) and the Guild of Psychotherapists (2009), for several years was a member of the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis and since 2003 has been a Clinical Affiliate member of the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR). All these organisations are members of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), one of the main UK professional bodies with which she has been registered since 2000.

 

Academic Work

Simona has considerable experience of organising and delivering training within the private, voluntary and public sectors. In 2001 she was appointed as a Visiting Faculty member by an established London training institution, where she taught and supervised trainee psychotherapists on courses at all levels. During the same year she was approved by a London university as an MA dissertations reader.

Private Practice

For decades Simona has held a busy private practice in south London, where she undertakes online and face-to-face therapeutic work and other related activities, such as clinical supervision and reflective practice. Referrals to her are directly from members of the public and from private, voluntary and public agencies, health professionals, training institutions and professional organisations.
